Handmade in Byron Bay
All Temple of the Sun Ceremonial styles are designed by co-founder and creative director Yonna Derofe and hand-crafted in our Byron Bay studio located within our HQ and boutique space. Like much of our solid gold jewellery our Ceremonial offering is proudly certified Australian Made.
Our Ceremonial jewellery is an expression of our commitment to integrity, we are proud to use accredited ethical and sustainable materials in our designs.
Ethical Gemstone and Diamonds
We use RJC approved precious gemstones where possible including natural diamonds accredited with the Kimberley Process (KPCS), a certification set up by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution to ensure transparency in the diamond trade and that all diamonds sourced are conflict-free.
We are also proud to offer lab grown diamonds for those looking for an alternative to natural diamonds.
Recycled and Responsibly Sourced Gold
Our 14K & 18K yellow solid gold jewellery is ethically hand-crafted in our Byron Bay, Australia studio using recycled and responsibly sourced gold.
Our gold suppliers are accredited and independently audited against the RJC Code of Practices – an international standard on responsible business practices for gold and platinum group metals.
The Code of Practices addresses human rights, labour rights, environmental impact, mining practices, product disclosure and many more important topics in the jewellery supply chain.

We choose Australian gemstones where possible and proudly source our Opals and Blue Sapphires from small family-owned mines.

Temple of the Sun began its journey by crafting high-quality 18K gold vermeil and ethical 925 sterling silver jewellery, initially offered through their online store. As the brand gained popularity and a reputation for excellent quality, its offering expanded into leading fashion boutiques, solidifying its reputation as one of Australia’s most sought-after brands.
In 2019, Temple established a solar-powered headquarters and showroom in Byron Bay, a significant milestone in the brand’s journey. Combining all of the founders’ favourite things, the space fuses antiquity-inspired relics, artisanal ceramics and contemporary furnishings collected on their travels, attracting visitors from all around the globe. It’s an honour to welcome new and returning customers into the space to experience Temple’s luxurious offerings of demi-fine and fine jewellery in person.
